In fact, it's a very unforgiving fight for ranged DPS in general, and not even Meteor Strikes make it a bad thing for melee to be out in fire. The worst case scenario is Meteor Strikes on melee, and that's still peanuts compared to shadow realm.Īm I just missing something? I can't think of a single thing in Halion on normal that almost begs for ranged DPS the way some fights in ICC do. I can DPS in P3 fire realm just as well as I can in shadow, thank you very much. One of those raids even included someone I know that said the RL decided to bring in some way undergeared and inexperienced mage that's barely done a couple bosses in ToC/ICC10 over me just because of the ranged/melee thing. I am a little annoyed that tonight is the third time in almost as many weeks that I couldn't join a normal RS raid because they're "full on melee", whatever that means. At some point in the next few weeks we’ll be able to fight Halion in the new Ruby Sanctum raid beneath the Wyrmrest Temple. It seems all the people looking for more in trade on my server for normal Ruby Sanctum 10/25 are obsessed with three things: gearscore, achievements, and a balance between ranged and melee DPS. I haven’t looked at any videos of the fight yet, so I can’t comment on it. There are a couple of good rogue pieces that might fill in some gaps in your armor. On 10-man, the loot is iLvL 258, which is slightly higher than ICC 10 normal loot. There is a chest item called Gloaming Sark. For those sporting their T10 chest for the set-bonus, this won’t be appealing. Also, for those who have bought the Shadow Seeker’s Tunic with your Frost Emblems, you’ll likely pass on this. But for others, this is a nice drop.Īlso from 10-man normal is the neck slot Baltharus’ Gift. Depending on your stat levels, this may be an upgrade over any neck item short of ICC hard modes. However, with no hit rating it might be hard for ICC raiders to give up on their Wodin’s Lucky Necklace, as hit rating is hard to come by in T10+ level loot. The 25-man normal raid has some very nice iLvL 271 items. That’s higher iLvL than Frost Emblem purchases and ICC 25 normal mode loot, but just short of heroic ICC 25 drops. I’ll be looking for the Umbrage Armbands. Like many rogues out there, I am still stuck with the Bracers of Swift Death. I haven’t been lucky enough to get the wrist items that drop from Sindragosa in ICC 10 or Saurfang in ICC 25. This is a good third option, and almost certainly better than either of the others.Īnother nice drop is the Signet of Twilight. Finger slot items are also somewhat hard to come by. There are a couple of comparable drops from ICC 25, so its good to have other options, or an upgrade if you’re already sitting on either Saurfang’s Cold-Forged Band or Rotface’s Seal of Many Mouths. Lastly, of interest to combat rogues, is another armor penetration trinket – Sharpened Twilight Scale. Hopefully Halion has some items that you can use. Theralion on ground: Stack, debuffed player gtfo, move from void zones Valiona on ground: Spread, clump up on Blackout, spread again, avoid breath I know I’ll be looking out for a couple of nice drops.Kommentar von NethrisCopy pasta from Valiona pageįirst things first, start by pulling Valiona, as you want him(her?) on the ground much rather than Theralion.įight consists of one dragon being on the ground, while the other one spams stuff from the air. While Valiona is on the ground, the basic idea is to stay spread out at all times to minimize meteor damage and clump up when Blackout hits someone. In 10man, have everyone get to melee when someone gets hit by blackout and in 25man, you can have separate ranged & melee groups if you dont want to run around too much. Just make sure you dispel Blackout fast when people are together to avoid useless meteor damage.Īlso, when breath comes, either move behind the boss OR if thats not possible, move as far away as possible from the breath, it does pathetic damage at max range. When Theralion is about to land, some swirling looking void zone thingies spawn on the ground, just dont get hit by them and dps Valiona as long as possible. While Theralion is on ground, its the opposite. You gotta stack up to split the meteor damage equally between everyone hit, but you must keep some players at range at all times. The easiest way to do this is to have around half of your raid in melee stacked up and the rest spread rather close to melee.
